How can I get a discount?
In places that accept Euro<26 cards (they should have it displayed that they honour Euro<26 cards) you just show a card and you get a discount!
Where can I check the list of discounts available in Poland?
- using the discount search on our website in the Discount entry
- in our Discount Guide (you get it when you buy a Euro<26 card)
- in PDF file available on our website in the Discount entry
- in Euro<26 magazine (we also place here discounts updates in Poland).
How can I check the list of discounts abroad?
Go to international Euro<26 website www.euro26.org where you will find an international discount search. You can also receive an international discount guide if you contact a card editor in the country you are interested in and ask him to send it to you. You can find the editors’ addresses in the Polish edition of the guide and on the Internet website www.euro26.org. The guide shall be sent to you by post.
In which countries can I get a discount?
Officially a Euro<26 card is recognised in 41 European countries that are listed in the Guide. Besides, when you are a holder of Euro<26 STUDENT card version (with „STUDENT ID” function) you can get additional discounts in countries where Euro<26 project has not been launched. ‘STUDENT ID’ function helps to certify that a cardholder is still a pupil or a student, which in turn gives you a possibility to get a discount available for students in this country.
Germany, France – how about discounts in these countries?
Euro<26 in these countries has been officially recognised until recently. For the time being actions aimed at renewing the Euro<26 project there are being taken. However, it is not that bad! Shop assistants remember the card well and it will often do if you show your card to get a discount. We suggest asking – it will do no harm, just the opposite it might help.
Can I get a discount when I pay by credit card?
It seems to be a particular problem in our country. Shop assistants have to pay commissions charged by financial system operators which are usually quite high. Thus, it happens that you have to pay in cash to get a discount.
Do I get a discount for train tickets (PKP – Polish National Railways) when I have a Euro<26 card?
Unfortunately, you don’t. PKP and municipal transport companies in Poland do not recognise virtually any youth cards. However, we conclude agreements with local bus companies. Their number is growing really fast, so we hope we will provide you a good alternative to travelling by train soon. It happens though that a conductor accepts your card as a valid and sufficient document but this often results from his disorientation or lack of familiarity with the card.
What about airline tickets, youth tourism?
The list of travel offices giving discounts to Euro<26 cardholders is placed in our Guide and on our Searcher. One of them is Wesco Ticketplus - www.ticketplus.pl
Euro<26 and ISIC
ISIC and Euro<26 are to completely different cards. Each of them has got its own discount system. Of course, it is possible in some places that you will get a discount no matter which card you have. However, the number of agreements in Europe on the basis of which the Euro<26 card is recognised is ten times bigger than that of ISIC. The insurance offer available with Euro<26 is also more attractive.
Discounts for pupils / students
Euro<26 STUDENT card gives you an opportunity to get discounts for students. We keep receiving signals from all over the world that the card has been accepted in different places! Nevertheless, please remember that it is usually a shop assistant’s good will to give you a student discount. Currently, there are a dozen or so different ‘international student cards’ with each claiming to be a unique document of this type. However, a single, officially recognized, international specimen for a student card does not exist. The Ministry of Education in each country creates its own specimen for a student card, which has nothing to do with cards issued by independent editors (these are often privately-owned companies).
